Play doesn’t always look like you expect it to.
It’s not always blocks stacked neatly or tea parties with dolls. Sometimes it’s running fingers across the couch seam for ten minutes (or my legs when I haven’t shaved LOL). Sometimes it’s carrying random toys or objects to random places all day. And some days — it’s nothing at all. Just watching TV and laying in a rocking chair.
This little series is a peek into how Aubree plays – or doesn’t.
Aubree is Autistic and nonverbal, but she communicates everything. Through movement, through objects, through what she chooses to engage with (or avoid completely). Some days, her “toy” of choice is a lid. Or a piece of diaper. Never know with her honestly!
Other days? Nothing grabs her. And that’s part of the story too.
This space honors all of it.
So if you’re here expecting perfect Pinterest play setups and sensory bins that kept her occupied for an hour — LOL, girl, no. This is real life. This is her life. And I’m just lucky I get to witness it.
Thanks for being here. 💛
Come take a walk through Aubree’s world with me — one quiet, curious, chaotic, beautiful moment at a time.
