Productivity Pending: Please Hold

By

It’s just after 3PM. I’ve been “awake” since 11:30, and I’m using that term very loosely.

Before anyone comes at me for sleeping in — let me just say this:
When you’re up from 3 to 5 in the morning with a toddler serenading you with “Five Little Ducks” on loop, sleeping past sunrise is not lazy. It’s survival.

Aubree had herself a whole middle-of-the-night concert. Not mad about it, just… deeply sleep-deprived. And somehow, by the time I rolled out of bed, she had not only ditched her diaper but managed to do it while wearing a romper. THROUGH THE LEG HOLE!

I don’t even know how. At this point, I think she’s doing it for sport.

Piper spent the morning trying to set land speed records down the hallway with her walker toy, chasing the dogs like it was some kind of toddler NASCAR event. I just stood there watching it unfold like I was in a nature documentary called “Predator vs. Poodle: Chaos in the Living Room.”

At some point, I put Piper down for a nap. And by “put down,” I mean I put her in her bed and hope she goes to sleep and not use it as a trampoline.

Technically, I should be helping with the last few remodeling things around the house. We’re living with my parents right now — just me and the girls tucked into one bedroom since my soon-to-be ex and I split up — so when I say space is tight and stress is thick? Yeah. That.

I might get up and do something soon.
Or I might continue vibing in this state of exhaustion while convincing myself it’s “mental prep.”
We’ll see how the mood strikes.

My parents will be out of town this weekend, heading down south to look at houses. We are moving back to our hometown we left 10 years ago. At the time, the move was a great idea, but its time to go home to be closer to our aging relatives.

This weekend the girls also go to their dad’s, which means I’ll be home alone with our disabled dog who barks like she’s got breaking news every time the wind moves. So I’m mentally gearing up for that too.

Anyway, I don’t have a point. Just vibes. Just tired. Just a mom who got 4 hours of broken sleep, got diaper-bluffed by a stealthy toddler ninja, and is now trying to decide whether to nap, clean, or pretend to clean while scrolling Pinterest.

I’m still here. Still showing up.

Just at my own speed.
Which today is somewhere between “molasses in January” and “feral goblin who needs a snack.”
